Pan Mee

Today I learnt how to make pan mee from a friend's mother who is 82 years old.

Pan Mee is made of flour, egg, water, oil, salt, knead until smooth. leave aside for more than an hour to rest and expand.

It requires a skill to knead the dough, something like playing tai chi. Special technic is required to pinch the dough into small pieces .
Pinch the dough into small thin pieces, cook them over a pot boiling water. take out and serve with soup with pucuk manis vegetable and topped with minced meat /mushroom gravy. Garnish with fried shallot and fried ikan bilis. Delicious....

Making soup is also another secret recipe. Aunty Louise is very generous and shares all her secrets with me. She is 82 years old and Praise the Lord, very healthy. Strong hands to knead a kilo of flour. Strong legs to stand by the stove.

Praise the Lord for this special aunty. Generous spirit . I believe the Lord called us to be a blessing to others. She is doing that. She is a blessing to me and my friend, Kam Yoke.
We went home with tiffin carrier filled with pan mee and soups as well as the secret recipe!

Besides learning to make pan mee, aunty also serenades mandarin and hokkien worship songs to us while cooking. such a joyous spirit. No wonder she is so healthy and still enjoying her life.

I must also not forget my dear friend , Grace Tan for buying all the ingredients and guiding us to her home at Sungai Siput. I pray for the Lord's favour and protection to be upon them always.

We ended the day with partaking of holy communion and prayer.

Love you both. We are highly favoured, greatly blessed and deeply loved.
